Fast Food Restaurant Wendy's Drops EP "We Beefin?"
I’ve always liked Wendy’s the most out of other competitors for their delicious fries, chicken nuggets, and dollar menu meals. Above all, I just loved the food for its flavor and diversity. I understand that eating at a fast food establishment the food should not be healthy or a person should not be eating there out of all other places, although, Wendy’s is one of the healthier fast food places to eat at than competitors Burger King and McDonald’s.
And now they have managed to release a short EP. First off, the production on the EP is actually not bad for the fast-food chain. It seems that Wendy’s is a critic and has seen the trend in the rap genre and have taken notes. The tape overall is just pretty funny with the cover art of a single burger in the middle with the title of the EP below and tracks that fit the fast-food industry with songs labeled, “Rest in Grease,” and “4 for 4$.”
The female voice rapping is a tad annoying, but the EP makes up for it with some nice unpredictable rhymes. Wendy’s flexes its muscle from the start on intro song “Twitter Fingers,” about the hard work and dedication the brand put in to reach acclaimed success and sustained wealth over a rattling beat. I enjoyed the opener and the rest that follows is decent.
On the next song, the brand takes shots at Burger King copying their food options and that no one can beat Wendy’s. There are actually some nice rhymes on this track where it states, ”Wendy’s been holding it down for a minute now. I’m Socrates, cause all your ideas just come from me. I can’t believe you peasants have the audacity.”
The EP is pretty hilarious where it takes jabs at McDonald’s on track “Rest in Grease,” with lines like, “I’m a boss chick so they hate that. Why your ice cream machine always broke? Why your drive-thru always slow? Why your innovation can’t grow?” The song goes on saying, “I know the reason you hatin me cause I’m fast foods, first lady.” My favorite track has to be this one by far over having the best flow out of all the songs and being the most listenable.
“Clownin,” points out that many eat at Wendy’s and to not get into wars on Twitter or diss the fast-food brand because it won’t work out well for any of them. Wendy’s makes fun of the fact that the mascot of McDonald’s being a clown on this song. The electronic trap like beat fits the message and lyrics, except at the end with lackluster rhymes.
“4 for 4$” has the best chorus out of the whole tracklist and it’s a good closer as they flex on the competition. They rap about their best package the 4 for 4$ and “4 for 4, that lick the rest and 4 for 4 your getting blessed.” They mention that their fruit is the best and that the food is better and with conveniently priced products.
And the good part of the EP as a whole is that the whole listening experience will only last 11 minutes, so it does not overstay its welcome or barrage itself with unnecessary content. It’s short and right to the point boasting about itself and taking jabs at competitors. Nothing in it, for the most part, is going to wow you, but it is fun and has some decent lines. It’s not good, but listenable. And it’s better than I thought it would be coming from a fast-food establishment.
There is a lot of great music out currently and this Wendy’s EP should be left on the back burner out of other projects from Lil Yachty, Trouble, Don Q, Timeflies, Logic, and many others.
What do you think? Is the EP fresh or spoiled? Which is the best fast food restaurant out of the three McDonald’s, Burger King, or Wendy’s?
